Day 8 - A Day of Rest and We Need It

After all the sightseeing and running around we've done, today we decided to just kick back and rest.  It was raining a little when we went out of breakfast this morning to a local place, Kalapawai Cafe & Deli in Waimanalo.

What I wouldn't give to pronounce ANY of the names of the towns on this island.

Breakfast was really good.  We each had a breakfast burrito.  It was stuffed with kalua pork, scrambled eggs, pepper jack cheese, breakfast potatoes, confetti black beans with salsa on the side.  It was a definite YUM!

In the afternoon, we played golf :)  Wayne is even competitive on Putt-Putt golf :)  Of course he won!

After a round of golf, we went to the recreation rental here on the station and rented some beach chairs.  While in there we noticed a bar and NEEDED a beer as we were parched from the round of golf.  We had a Pilsner from the Maui Brewing company in Honolulu.  We shot the breeze with the bartender who came from Staten Island and then headed for the beach, right here at Bellows Air Force Station.  It's a private beach for military staying here.  The water was pretty rough and cool but i can say i soaked my toes in the south pacific.

We drove out to the same food truck that we got food from last Sunday upon our arrival and returned home with an order of Garlic Shrimp, Likelike Shrimp (sweet and spicy) and "Traditional" Shrimp, whatever that might be.

I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring in the way of adventures, but we'll be rested and ready to go, wherever.
