Our first stop today was in Tyrol portion of Austria at the outdoor living history museum, Tiroler Bauernhof.  We had a guided tour, with a lot of ups and downs and hill climbing.  We looked at relocated buildings, mountain huts dating from the 13th century.  These are primarily original and donated and relocated to this Tyrolean government owned museum.

So, I take pictures of doors, does that make me a bad person?

The stones on the roofs were to hold down the shingles, as the shingles were not nailed down.

Lunch was about 15 minutes away in a little town, Rattenberg. A bowl of soup and a piece of cake were perfect.  Wayne's ice cream made him smile.

They're known for their glass blowing and they had demonstrations and lots of glass for sale.  I managed to get out of town without a purchase.

Onward to Salzburg.  We cross into one of the tips where Austria and Germany meet on the way to Salzburg.

Tonight we have dinner together and after dinner, a baroque chamber music concert.  We had to walk to get to dinner and another woman and Wayne weren't quite up to the walk.  It was supposed to be a long walk.  Sonia, our guide, called a taxi and I and Susan's husband reaped the benefits and got the taxi ride too.  Well, it should have been a 5 minute ride.  Google maps said it would be 1 km.  Our driver got stuck in traffic as the President of Austria was visiting and traffic was being stopped.  The group that walked arrived before we did.  Fifteen minutes into the ride, we were still 300 meters from the restaurant.  He had to use an alternate bridge to cross the river.  What a hoot!  We took a few turns on what I thought was 2 wheels.

Our dinner restaurant for the evening.  Another group dinner in a restaurant I would call a beer garden.  I had a terrine of guinea fowl with cremini mushrooms.   A first.  I've never been a 'pate' kind of person.   It was actually very good.

Back to the baroque Mozart concert.  Wayne is cringing but says he'll go.  After dinner, we, all of us, walked to the Mirabell Palace where the concert took place.  It's a 17th century palace with ornamental gardens, plus classical concerts held in their ballrooms.

We walked across a pedestrian bridge and there's were locks all over the bridge; shades of Genoa Italy.  Where someone in love puts a lock on the fence with their love's name on it.  From there we walked through the beautiful gardens, all of this to get to the palace entrance to the concert.

The concert hall where the concert took place.

Post script:  He was good.  He didn't fall asleep and he actually seemed to enjoy it (although we left at intermission).  He said it was one step better than elevator music.
