Day 7 - Wednesday, June 19, 2024 - Shetland Islands
We had an early tour this morning, leaving at 7:55 for a very short tour to see some Shetland ponies.
Known to be small and hardy, Shetland ponies were developed to pull heavy loads.
Shetland ponies are long-lived, easily reaching 30. Some of the ponies we saw today were 50 years old.
The little one on the ground is only two weeks old.
From there we received a short tour of the mainland and returned to the ship.
Rather than going onto the ship, we took the shuttle bus into the small town of Lerwick and walked through the village and did a little shopping.
Back on the ship early we spent the afternoon playing a round of dominos. I may owe someone some real money before this cruise is over.
Beautiful photos again Ellen sure enjoy your blog and pictures with my morning coffee thanks for sharing
