Day 11 - Wednesday January 28, 2026 - Another SNothingea Day

Nothing much to say about today. We spent the day at sea with our ship rocking and rolling around all day.  The barf bags were hung out and the elevators out of commission.  

We had all three meals in the buffet area as that’s on deck 7., our room is on deck 8 and the better restaurants are on deck 2 but I wasn’t walking down all the steps so we are on deck 7. 

We went to bed still rocking but woke up to calm seas!

  The view from our breakfast area window this morning View from balcony window in the sunshine From the grounds behind the hotel O Our first stop today was in Tyrol portion of Austria at the outdoor living history museum, Tiroler Bauernhof.  We had a guided tour, with a lot of ups and downs and hill climbing.  We looked at relocated buildings, mountain huts dating from the 13th century.  These are primarily original and donated and relocated to this Tyrolean government owned museum. So, I take pictures of doors, does that make me a bad person? The stones on the roofs were to hold down the shingles, as the shingles were not nailed down. Lunch was about 15 minutes away in a little town, Rattenberg. A bowl of soup and a piece of cake were perfect.  Wayne's ice cream made him smile. Day 3 - Wednesday July 19 - Old City of Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus

  Our first day of touring!  We left the hotel at 9 am and headed 15 minutes down the road to the old town of Lucerne for a 2 hour walking tour.   Our first stop, we picked up a local guide who walked us to the Lion Monument.   It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris. If there's a bench, Wayne will find it. From there we went into the Old City for a guideed tour of some of the famous landmarks.  The most famous is the Chapel Bridge.  The timber bridge, together with the water tower are a landmark of Lucerne.  It burned to the ground in 1993 and was rebuilt in 8 months.  The bridge is 672 feet long and is covered with gorgeous flowers.  This year, the flowers are impatiens.   In past years, Wayne tells me, there were geraniums along the entire length of the bridge. Day 26 - Wednesday November 19, 2025 - Our lady day in Egypt

  The alabaster Sphinxat Memphis We set out today at 7:30 for the last of the pyramids our guide wanted us to see.  Our first stop was at a site of many pyramids, Saqqarah.  It is a huge burial ground with many pyramids in different states of decline.   Weather and the water table have done considerable damage over the centuries.   We all went inside, one tomb, and our guide, Sam, showed us all of the hieroglyphs on the wall and the painted scenes that have withstood time We were able to access the pyramid of Teri and while I didn’t crawl into the Great Pyramid, I was told this would be much easier to crawl through.  Given my height, crawling wasn’t necessary.   This was the tomb of a nobleman; not a king or queen.   Entrance to the tomb  Going down down down This gives you an idea of how you had to hunch over to get into the Not a great picture.
