Day 11 - Sunday, June 23, 2024 - Tromso Norway
We had ourselves some fabulous weather today. It was a perfect 73 degrees and lots of sunshine.
These first few shots are from the deck of the ship as we arrived this morning.
I took a walk around town this morning, by myself. It was such a lovely day and being early on a Sunday morning, there wasn't much pedestrian traffic.
At a square just a block from the ship, there was a statute they call their Holocaust Memorial. The Germans invaded Norway early in World War 2
Found in a store, more trolls
The oldest church and near to the ship. The Tromso Cathedral built in 1861.
The northernmost Mc Donald's anywhere. It's hard to run from them.
Our bus tour was a 2 1/2 hour ride around the city stopping first at the planetarium for show about the Northern Lights. We won't, obviously, be seeing them as we are in the season of endless daylight.
After the show, we boarded the bus and stopped at a viewpoint, the highest viewpoint in the city for views and pictures.
These last pictures came from our last stop on the other side of the city. There was a pier we walked out on and with today's warm weather, there were many in bathing suits and the teenagers were jumping into the water. It was 39 degrees but they thought it was warm!
The weather has turned again and as we left.port, the drizzle started. Out tour tomorrow is to an aviation museum. We may be glad it's an indoor tour.
Great pics! Thx for sharing.
