Day 34 - Tuesday, July 16, 2024 - Return to The Shetland Islands
Da Lightsome Buoy" is a celebration of the role the fishing industry plays in the Shetlands
We had another cool misty day today.
Wayne and I had already taken an hour included tour back in June on the Shetland Islands and so we had nothing planned today.
After doing a load of wash early this morning, we walked off the ship and took the shuttle bus into the very small town of Lerwick.
We covered the town in about 15 minutes and Wayne's knee was bothering him so he got back on the shuttle bus and went back to the ship. I took a few more laps around the town and having been here just a few weeks ago had had enough of town myself.
The shopping district is really only about two blocks long with not that much interesting including the few tourist souvenir shops that they have. I joined Wayne back on the ship around lunch time and we just kicked back and relaxed the rest of the day.
Once again I lost badly in three rounds of cribbage. I don't think I will ever get the knack of this game. Howard tried to teach me years ago and while I understand all of it I don't often seem to come out on the winning end.
My little walk around Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.
