Wednesday April 1st - Paris Boarding Our Ship

We’re having a nice easy day today.  Woke without an alarm clock at 8 am and went for a walk to a bakery for a pastry and coffee.  Then on to the outdoor market for a walk around to look at the stalls and shops.

We have cool, gray skies today and glad we were at the Eiffel Tower yesterday because as we passed it today on the way to our ship, the summit was on the clouds.  If you went today, you’d see nothing.

We did get our steps in, it seemed uphill both ways, about 1 km each way.

Everywhere you look, beautiful bolangeries and chocolatiers and cheese shops.   Fun to look and take pictures.

Maybe a ladybug for Easter?

Bits and pieces from our hotel

Our room key.  You didn’t want to carry it around.  We were asked to return it each time we left the hotel

Apropos of our card playing, the picture in our hotel room and someone is cheating!

We had lunch on the ship and then a relaxing unpacking.  Given the small suitcases, it didn’t take long.

We have the obligatory safety talk at 6:15 and the dining room opens for dinner at 7 pm.

Tomorrow we have a four hour bus tour which includes the sights of Paris with only one stop which I believe will actually be back at Notre Dame but the tour doesn’t allow time to go inside so I’m glad we did a few days ago.

Dinner was lovely tonight.  Sat with two other couples and made friends.

I tried escargots for the first time and enjoyed it immensely.   Cod was the main course and a sinful choice pastry to end the evening.

Cod served on spinach made my arms swell but it does that to Popeye also

At 9:00 pm, actually at the top of every hour for five minutes, the Eiffel Tower is light and also blinks so we caught the 9 pm show and retired shortly afterwards.

On the bus tomorrow for a nine hour tour of the city and a private showing at the Louvre.  Good night all.
